This research and development are led by Heru’s Founder and visionary Mohamed Abou Shousha, MD, PhD, associate professor of clinical ophthalmology, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, along with a team of leading physicians, scientists and engineers.
With our cloud-based smart technology, you can easily administer a visual field test with a wearable device to detect central and peripheral vision loss. Our test is fast, accurate and reliable. We are continuing to develop additional technology to allow for more autonomous testing in the future. Heru is also developing additional diagnostics and vision augmentation applications for our wearable device.
Over 1000 patients with visual field defects and other vision disorders have been tested with our visual field test. These clinical trials are being conducted at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, with additional clinical trial sites planned. Our technology is validated by five studies published and presented in national meetings and leading ophthalmology journals including the American Journal of Ophthalmology.
